Exosome Therapy for Hair Loss

As we age, the growth (anagen) phase of our hair cycle gets shorter, resulting in hair loss
and thinning. Hair growth signal boosters will help turn these follicles back on to start
growing again.

What are Exosomes?

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles containing proteins, lipids and metabolites, and are
mediators of intercellular communication.

How do Exosomes work for hair regeneration?

• At about one-thousandth of the size of an average cell, each microscopic
  exosome contains growth factors and other materials that trigger regeneration in
  the targeted treatment areas.
• Other cells react to the communication signals exosomes send out, changing
  their behaviour and “switching on” when directed by the exosome.
• When AnteAge exosomes are micro-needled into your scalp, these helpful cells
  signal your hair follicles to regenerate and regrow hair.

Exosomes Vs PRP:

• How invasive: PRP treatment requires extraction of the patient’s own blood to
  work, which also requires more preparation time. Exosomes are prepared in a
  separate lab, meaning they are ready for use when patients arrive for treatment
• Number of treatments necessary: Typically, patients only require 1-2 exosome
  treatments for optimal results, whereas patients will require 3-6 PRP treatments
  for the best results.
• Anti-inflammatory properties: Exosome therapy has anti-inflammatory
  properties, which can be highly eVective for tissue regeneration treatment and
  wound healing. In contrast, PRP does not provide the same anti-inflammatory
  eVects and depends on each patients internal health.
• Concentration of growth factors: Exosome treatment delivers a higher
  concentration and diversity of growth factors than PRP treatment. Additionally,
  the concentration of growth factors can depend on age because the number of
  growth factors found in the plasma decreases as we age.
  

   

Stem Cells:

AnteAGE products are derived from human bone marrow stem cells which are grown in
a lab, and then only the cytokines and growth factors are extracted. (Contains no RNA or
DNA).
The cytokines and growth factors are then encapsulated in natural lipid envelopes to
preserve them, keep them functional and aid in transporting these rejuvenating agents.
Stem cells are not alike. Bone marrow stem cells are believed to be the most eVective
source because they are what command and control tissue repair and healing
throughout the body. Unlike bone marrow stem cells, adipose derived stem cells are not
programmed towards wound repair and are primarily used to generate more fat cells.

What is the procedure like?

At Luxe Appearance we use the Dermapen 4 microneedling device to make small
channels in the scalp at 1.25mm depth, allowing the exosome solution to be absorbed
deeper into the scalp. We do not use topical numbing cream for this procedure, as the
anesthetic slows profusion to the scalp, limiting the blood, oxygen and nutrients being
delivered. The treatment is very tolerable and is done quickly.

Treatment frequency:

It is recommended to have at least 3 in clinic treatments, with a maintenance treatment
every 6 months for best results. Individual programs can diVer depending on degree of
hair loss and responsiveness. The Home Hair Kit can be used long term.

Down time & aftercare:

Clients need to allow 24 hours of downtime post treatment, as you cannot wash your
hair. Exosomes are to be left on the scalp for 24 hours to be fully absorbed. The scalp
may feel slightly tender on brushing the following day. Some people will experience
some dryness of the scalp as the skin regenerates itself.
Clients need to avoid excessive heat, or potential pathogens for 3 days post procedure.
For Example, Public swimming pools, excessive dust, dirt or sweat.

Home Hair System:

For best hair regeneration results, it is recommended to pair the Home Hair System with
professional Exosome Needling treatments at Luxe Appearance.

The Home Hair System contains a hair serum, scalp stimulation brush and a microchannelling stamp.
5x per week, apply several drops of the hair serum to the scalp, focusing on the main
areas of concern, and then use the scalp stimulation brush to massage the product in.
1-2x per week use the micro-channelling device stamp pressing firmly over the entire
treatment area where the serum has been applied. Stamp using a rocking motion.
