Belkyra

Ready to start your journey?

Bothered by submental fullness?

You’re not alone. According to a 2015 survey conducted by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS): 67% of People Surveyed Said They Are Bothered by the Fat Beneath Their Chin. In fact, the survey results showed that people are just as bothered by submental fullness as they are by lines and wrinkles around and under their eyes.

Belkyra may help improve your chin profile

If you’re interested in a non-surgical way to reduce submental fullness, also known as a double chin, Belkyra® may be right for you. Belkyra is a first-of-its-kind injectable treatment for adults with submental fullness. As a result, it destroys fat cells under the chin to improve your profile.

About Belkyra®

Belkyra® is the only FDA-approved and Medsafe-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile.

Belkyra® is right for you if you:

You are bothered (unhappy, self-conscious, embarrassed) by fat under the chin, also known as submental fullness.
Feel the condition makes you look older or heavier than you actually are.
Don’t want to have surgery.
Eat well and exercise, but submental fullness does not go away.

How Belkyra® works:

The active ingredient in Belkyra is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Belkyra destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

Faq's

Actually, they are the same thing. The difference is only in the branding. The USA use the brand Kybella (Made famous by Khloe Kardashian) whereas the rest of the world use the Brand “Belkyra”.

Treatment can only be administered by a Belkyra®-trained healthcare specialist. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin. Subsequently, the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes each time. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile.

Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. During consultation, your healthcare specialist will help determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each Belkyra® double chin treatment session is monthly for up to six treatments. You will need an initial consultation to discuss and determine whether you are an appropriate client for Belkyra®. You will need at least two treatments and potentially up to six depending on the grade of submental fullness. Treatments occur six to eight weeks apart. The first two treatments are $2800, and every subsequent single treatment $1500. In clinical studies, 59% of patients received six treatments. The results from the studies indicated that results can last up to four years. (James et al, 2016)

After Belkyra® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, or difficulty swallowing. Also, call if you experience injection site problems such as bruising, hair loss, open sores (ulcers), and damage and tissue cell-death (necrosis) around the injection site. In addition, call your healthcare provider if you develop open sores or drainage from the treatment area. Swelling in the area under the chin is completely normal. If so, this indicates the treatment is working. Your body at this point is undergoing an inflammatory reaction to eliminate the fat cells. This typically lasts a couple of days but in some reported cases it lasts a few weeks. Most people can easily return to work with 24 hours. At Luxe Appearance, we use local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable.

As we mentioned above the first two treatments are $2,800 and every subsequent treatment $1,500. Per treatment. As with all of our treatments the requirements are unique from client to client. Contact Luxe Appearance to discuss your customised Belkyra® treatment plan.
