What is Profhilo®?

Profhilo is an injectable made from hyaluron, something that is naturally present in the skin but declines with age. This therefore helps to promote hydration and collagen formation in the skin. Free of additives, Profhilo easily spreads through the skin structures and tissues, formulating a hydrating layer whilst simultaneously stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

What is Profhilo® used for?

Profhilo is a great treatment to treat skin laxity on many areas of the body, particularly efficient in helping to remodel ageing and saggy skin on the neck, face and hands. It hydrates and firms the skin, proven to produce collagen and elastin to help tighten and give your skin a more youthful look.

How is Profhilo® different from regular dermal fillers?

Profhilo is not a dermal filler that is used to fill fine lines and add structure and volume. Profhilo is a skin-conditioning treatment. Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin to improve the skin texture, making it significantly different from other treatments on the market.

What is the treatment process of Profhilo®?

Profhilo® involves two treatments that are four weeks apart. This treatment process is relatively pain free, with little to no downtime required. Your injector will place fine needles under the skin at specific points, to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the treatment. Profhilo® will evenly spread throughout the surrounding tissues of the skin, to hydrate and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. The results from Profhilo typically last for up to nine months, but individual results can differ. Typically, clients repeat Profhilo every 6 – 12 months in order to achieve and maintain the best results.

Will I experience any side effects?

Profhilo® has been widely used, with over a million syringes administrated and it has a very well-established safety profile. As with any injectable treatment, there is a risk of swelling, tenderness, bruising and redness between 24-48 hours after the initial treatment. Because Profhilo activates beneath the skins surface and stimulates cell renewal, there is no risk of a puffy, bloated or obvious treated appearance.

Disclaimer:

Profhilo is not suitable to those previously allergic to hyaluronan; anaphylaxis reaction to bee stings, pregnant or breast-feeding; with permanent fillers or facial implants; unwell with a cold; prior keloid scarring; planned dental treatment in a month or flying overseas in under four days. It is best avoided if you have had a recent vaccine, Profhilo treatments will need to be at least 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after a Covid Vaccination. Caution is needed in those with an autoimmune disorder.
– Do not use with treatments such as a laser resurfacing or medium-deep skin peeling. Caution in people on blood thinning medicines.
