Despite the dramatic name, the vampire facial is a very natural, gentle beauty treatment that intensely nourishes the skin. The clinical name for the vampire facial is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. The reason why PRP is associated with “vampires” is because it involves injecting a centrifuged sample of your own blood into the skin. During a vampire facial, a micro needling technique is used to gently prick and stimulate your skin to allow your treated blood to stimulate collagen and elastin production. We find that PRP offers several benefits for treating common skin problems and kicking the skin’s natural ability to flourish into high gear.
